On the basis of Act NR SR No. 546/2010 Coll., which amended the Civil Code, with effect from 1 January 2011, mandatory publication of contracts was introduced as a condition for their effectiveness in cases defined by law.

The amendment should ensure a higher degree of transparency and also a more economical handling of public property and public funds. As part of this amendment, Act No. 211/2000 Coll. on free access to information.
